Synopsis: On 20 January 1931 Julia Wallace was battered to death with an iron bar. Although no motive was established, William Wallace was found guilty of his wife's murder and sentenced to hang. The jury's verdict was overturned by the Appeal Court and Julia's killer was never brought to justice. Fifty years of research and revelations still leave this one of the strangest unsolved murder mysteries. William Wallace is an insurance collector, whose wife enjoys the attentions of a womanising younger salesman. When she is killed, her husband is charged with her murder. Based on a true story.
